Who We Are

The CFI Enforcer program is a collaboration between Advanced Product Design (APD) and CFI system inventor Mike Laws.
APD, led by owner John Kyle, has spent decades designing, building, and supplying high‑performance carburetors for racers and street‑performance enthusiasts across the country. Mike brings more than 30 years of high‑tech engineering and product development, with a focus on solving the real‑world shortcomings of traditional carburetion.
Between us, we’ve been directly involved in the design, development, and production of tens of thousands of racing and street carburetors. We’ve lived through every strength, every weakness, and every tuning challenge carburetors face — on the street, on the dyno, and at the track.
And because of that experience, we also understand EFI. We know where EFI shines, where it struggles, and why the “carb vs. EFI” debate will never end. Carburetor people will always defend carbs. EFI people will always defend EFI. Both sides are right — and both sides are wrong.
After decades of building carburetors, fixing carburetors, and watching EFI solve some problems while creating others, we came to a simple conclusion:

The best system isn’t carburetion or EFI. The best system is a hybrid that combines the strengths of both.

That realization is what led to the creation of the CFI Enforcer system. We didn’t set out to replace carburetors. We set out to fix the problems carburetors can’t fix on their own — without losing what makes them great.
APD handles manufacturing, fulfillment, and customer support. Mike oversees the technical direction and evolution of the CFI system.
